Come to the United States of America through the Student Exchange and Visitors Program! If you are looking for a high school in the US, River Oaks Academy may be the education center for you. River Oaks Academy is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students. International students must obtain a student visa to study in the United States. College preparation and academic studies in English are the most common requests for students in this program. Students from all over the world have come to ROA to spend a year or more learning English, receiving academic instruction in core courses and experiencing American culture first hand. All graduates of ROA’s International Program have gone on to college. As a small private school, students receive individualized attention.
ROA provides individualized education for children with a wide range of special needs in a private school environment. Small student teacher ratios and specialized programming for those with learning differences, learning disabilities, unique learning styles, social skills needs, ADHD, autism and behavioral and emotional issues are provided.
ROA provides transitional and transfer programming for students coming to Houston during the school year for a variety of family and personal reasons. Some families are being relocated by employers others come from treatment centers, group homes, wilderness camps or boarding schools. ROA also offers summer day camp, academic enrichment and credit recovery programs in the summer. It’s fun in the summer for kids who have challenges but love going on field trips, swimming and need academic enrichment. It’s for parents who need kids to be productively engaged and safe. It’s for kids who sometimes may not adjust well to other day camps. They may be diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, impulse control problems but still deserve to have fun in the summer time.
